Give yourself a break and let the kids spend some quiet-time with this super-fun magnetic fishing sensory bin! Not only is it ridiculously easy to make, it’s also a great learning tool. Let the little ones explore the use of magnets while also learning about the letter F with this Fishing themed sensory bin.
As part of my ongoing series, ABC Sensory, we’ve been exploring a different sensory activity for each letter of the alphabet. And for today’s letter F sensory bin, we’ll be making a magnetic fishing sensory bin! Find out below just how easy it was to make. Plus, I created a FREE checklist to help you along the way. Magnetic fishing puzzle or game
Letter F Shapes (upper case and lower case)
This sensory bin couldn’t be easier to make!
Fill your bin with blue sand. (Using blue-colored sand is a great way to simulate water. Plus it makes for a fun tactile experience!)
Add your magnetic fish and letter F shapes. (We like to use letter shapes in our sensory bins to reinforce the letter we’re learning about.)
Grab your magnetic fishing pole and let the kids get to work trying to catch as many fish as they can!
Make It A Game
Try pushing all the fish and letter F shapes under the sand so they’re “hiding.” Then let your kids dig through the sand to try and catch them all!
Sneak In Some Learning
As your child is playing, try asking questions like:
“What letter are we learning about today?”
“What sound does the letter F make?”
“F is for what?… Fish!”
Try Making Your Own Magnetic Fishing Sensory Bin
